hi.

i am so very much one of those people who is all “I have a blog”.

and once a year i update it. (I am looking at you jason!)

Oh well. I guess at this point life has taken a turn for the busier. and somehow it seems that between Facebook and every other IM client i communicate with those whom i choose fairly frequently. so, if you somehow are here seeing this and you are not a spam bot, then hi!

So one of the interesting things about this town is the lack of public access channels ( not that I have cable, because I don’t). In response to thins, a group of real locals created a project to archive the flavor of Flagstaff. The artists, musicians, and community. An abitious undertaking to be certain, but one that has gone well. You can visit the site at http://flgnews.com . I had a chance to meet the guy who is spear heading this effort the other day in a meeting to create new public access channels on cable for our region. He is a neat guy, hi energy and very creative. In short he asked me to come fill 5 minutes talking about my work. I accepted and showed up for my turn. What Fun! It gathers mid day on Friday at an old historic building in downtown. Lots of folks I knew where there and we had a great time. Take a look at the episode for 12/ 14/ 07 - I am on there acting awkward somewhere.

But not much else. Right now sitting and thinking about skiing. I DO get bored of the old Snowbowl. Oh yes. So bored. But this year, something new! A boy to take skiing. This makes me very excited, to see skiing in AZ as something new. Something NOT the same 7 runs, though they are good runs. I think he will be good at skiing, but I am not going to push it. Just go play in the snow.

It was pretty nice up there today, something like 60 inches of wet and heavy coverage. Held edges really well and it will make for a nice long ski season.

I am really getting to love holidays. I enjoy having the perspective of sharing the holidays with kids. So much love and fun. Jaz wakes every morning thinking it is Christmas and in a way it is. He loves his world and his life and that it just so great. So very wonderful to see.

There’s been tons of family (and more coming I guess!) recently. If nothing else, I’ve learned the value in strong ties to family. I guess, all in all, having a couple of kids teached you something about yourself and your values, or at least it should.

Life continues on pretty nicely. Sorry about the long spaces between blog posts. I have been keeping very busy.

Work and home

Sort of having a hard time recently figuring out exactly how to balance it all out… work and home. It is very easy to separate them. They don’t overlap at all, but the edges are blurred in that I am quite ambitious at work, and honestly, a bit lost at home. When we had J , it was much easier, or it seems to be - this part about rolls and what I am expected to do. Here at work I know what I am supposed to do (mostly!) and what is expected of me day to day, but at home, it just isn’t so easy. I am sure this is to do with the fact that there are two little ones involved in the mix. Father, bread winner. Poppa, fort builder. I wish it were that easy, but it isn’t.

Wow, I feel really clunky writing these days, I am really rusty, and I was never that good anyhow.

Good thing no one is reading this. I do get very excited to read back and realize that even though I missed a few years there, I still have this pretty neat journal of some pretty meaningful bits of my life here on diaryuh. I do think I will start picking topics and trying to be witty here …oh yes! So witty.

Today is Halloween. Truth be told, I am not nor have ever been a big Halloween enthusiast. Particularly when it comes to adults. Part of me understood when teachers would dress up, but here in my current work place it is really unsettling, seeing adults dressed as brides and witches and such.

I’ve been saying that I am dressed as George Clooney in Syriana. . .

Not a lot response to that joke.

Another odd thing about working in an office. I am not known as a joker, a funny guy. That is strange for me, people just know me as the guy at the end of the hall, mostly. And then I am not sure, but I think that is ok, because you don’t wanna become Dwight Schrutt. having a certain reputation. My teaching mentor said, “Once they figure out how you are going to respond (in a meeting to a certain idea) then it is time to move on.” I live by this, and my 3 year cycle in life continues.
